An Intragastric Balloon is a device which is inserted in your stomach with the help of an endoscope. It is made of silicone, which is a completely inert material and does not disturb body tissues.

How is it performed?

The Intragastric Balloon is inserted in the stomach with the help of an Endoscope. An Endoscope is a thin tube like device with a camera tip which when inserted through the mouth is used to view the inside of your food pipe and stomach. This is a non-invasive procedure, which means no cuts are made on your body. The balloon is then filled with saline till a volume of 350-500 ml and left in your stomach for 6 or 12 months.
